Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct health care system that utilizes an individualized approach to improving health and treating disease. The state of health of each person is unique to them, and for this reason personalized treatment plans are appropriate. The goal of naturopathic medical treatment is to provide holistic and practical long-term solutions to patient health concerns.
Prevention is a priority in naturopathic medicine!
When disease is present, the focus of treatment is to address the underlying cause of illness, and help re-establish health rather than managing symptoms. Symptoms of disease are seen as indicators of improper function, underlying imbalance, and/or poor lifestyle habits. If the root cause is addressed, then the body is able recover and maintain optimal health.
Everyone can benefit from naturopathic medicine; therefore our commitment is serving patients of all ages and in all stages of health. This includes both chronic illnesses and acute conditions, in addition, to people who are simply interested in optimizing their health and preventing future illness. Naturopathic care is complementary to all other health care systems.

Acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medical principles, which employs needling of precise points on the body which are energetically linked to internal organs and disease processes. It can be utilized in a wide range of conditions, but is especially useful to relieve pain and stress. Stimulation of an acupuncture point, facilitates the release of endorphins which are natural chemicals released in the body that promote relaxation and decrease pain. Acupuncture also improves blood circulation throughout the body, which helps to oxygenate the tissues and remove cortisol along with other body waste products. |

Natural health products are valuable in promoting wellbeing, however if they are self prescribed it is likely that you may not be taking a product that is suitable for your individual needs. It is also important to consider the quality and therapeutic dosage of the supplement. It is useless to take a supplement that is not properly absorbed in the body, or does not provide adequate amounts of the desired nutrient. You will not obtain the intended therapeutic effect as a result.
Twenty minute appointments are available to consult with Dr. Caracoglia about any questions you may have about the natural health products you are currently taking.
